Business Development Account Manager

Full Time

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Outside sales with primary focus on assigned Major IOUs and Major Municipals to buy our Off-the-Shelf applications (or as close as possible to OTS).

  2. Secondary focus on new sales to existing A accounts in cooperation with the Client Services assigned representative.

  3. Develop new business by researching assigned targets, visiting, building relationships, uncovering needs, proposing our OTS applications using Master Price List (or gaining approval for deviations), and closing sales.  Once closed, lead initial portion of the Kick-off Meeting to assure smooth hand-off to Project Management and Development.

  4. Represent Apogee in the industry media by publishing and at conferences and industry meetings by presenting, attending, and exhibiting.  Develops an area of expertise in which he/she can excel and build credibility for individual and Company as speaker and lead in product developments related to that expertise.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5-7  years’ experience in consultative sales role, preferably to utilities

  • Experience  within the energy or utility industry is preferred

  • Excellent communications skills including interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening skills.

  • Self-motivated, team player with desire and dedication to being part of a top-performing team

  • Ability to maintain positive work environment

  • High level integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
