(ATLANTA) APOGEE Interactive, a leading provider of online solutions for the energy industry, announced that Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), a subsidiary of Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), has added APOGEE Interactive's CommercialEnergySuite™ to its online energy efficiency tools, enhancing the ability of those customers to manage energy usage and costs.
"BGE wants to put as many tools as possible in the hands of its customers to help them increase energy efficiency and take more control of their energy costs," said Joseph G. Bunch, director of customer planning for BGE. "These online energy efficiency tools are a great resource for our commercial customers, particularly small to mid-size businesses that may not a have full-time energy managers."
APOGEE's CommercialEnergySuite complements BGE's existing Web-based Energy Conservation at Work program and enables businesses of all types and sizes to evaluate energy efficiency, energy usage patterns and opportunities for cost savings for their facility in an online format that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"We're honored to be a part of BGE's energy efficiency initiatives," said Susan Gilbert, president of APOGEE. "It is very rewarding to be part of a process that offers customers around-the-clock, actionable, energy-saving information in an online 'self-service' format that gives them the ability to take more control of their energy usage and costs."
The cornerstone of the CommercialEnergySuite is the CommercialEnergyCalculator™, an interactive energy calculator that shows a business the steps it can take that will yield the biggest cost savings. The calculator covers more than 55 different business types and sizes, features drop-down menu prompts and instantaneously displays annual energy costs by major end-use systems. Customers can compare current energy usage with any number of change scenarios to determine whether the change is cost effective.
An extensive library of practical commercial energy system information is also included in the Suite, giving the customer member access to even more energy advice. A special section addressing the difference between energy consumption and energy "demand" is presented to help businesses understand demand's impact on energy costs as well.
APOGEE Interactive, Inc., is a leading provider of online solutions for the energy industry. Serving more than 200 utilities nationwide since 1994, Apogee's web-based content and tools reach millions of energy consumers daily.
