FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Atlanta, GA—February 3, 2012— Atlanta-based Apogee Interactive announced today that Joe Polaski has joined the leading provider of innovative online energy analysis
applications as a director of business development. He will be based in the company’s Atlanta headquarters and will be responsible for sales of the company’s broad suite of cutting-edge analytical tools to major investor-owned utilities.
According to Apogee CEO Susan Gilbert, “Joe brings extensive utility, energy efficiency, software, and business experience to our company at a critical time as we are experiencing an enormous expansion in our product offerings.” She adds, “With a client base of more than 600 of the nation’s leading electric and gas utilities, bringing these new applications to our existing customers and sharing them with prospective ones has required we grow both our business development team and client services group.”
Polaski brings to his new position more than thirty years’ experience creating turnkey energy intelligence tools to aid utilities in automated billing, energy efficiency program design, measurement and verification of energy savings, and automated demand response. His leadership role in operations, sales, and strategic planning formed the foundation for many business practices in the utility industry today.
Prior to joining Apogee, Joe was executive director of utility sales for Energy ICT, a global provider of enterprise data management software and web-based energy analysis tools. His efforts provided utilities with a single auditable platform for automated meter reading, billing, customer service, and load management systems.
In other earlier positions, Polaski was vice-president of two business subsidiaries of Hunt Oil, E-MON and MeterSmart. At Hunt Oil, he oversaw the simplification of product offerings and streamlined the U.S. based assembly practice. He also drove the reinvention of Hunt’s meter-centric energy information bureau into a firm that provides commodity balancing and settlement, demand response implementation, and automated billing to utilities and energy service providers.
Joe’s earlier industry experience was rooted in energy efficiency program design, measurement and verification of third party energy service contracts, and targeted load management. While at PSEG (NYSE: PEG) Polaski managed the nation’s first “pay for performance” demand side management program, designing many of the rules that monetized the value of energy efficiency as a resource. This program provided payment streams to providers and participants, and offered valuable foundations for prudency reviews of the utility program.
Polaski also was co-founder and president of OBVIUS, a technology driven services company that provides LAN/WAN near real-time energy information to industrial, commercial, and institutional utility customers.
