Web-Based Energy Conservation Contests Between Schools

Apogee has teamed up with Marietta Power & Water and the Marietta City Schools to "Save-A-Watt", an innovative education/business partnership and energy conservation initiative. This Web-based energy conservation contest has 11 Marietta City elementary and secondary schools competing to decrease their electrical consumption and identify sustainable energy conservation methods.

Apogee's AMES Energy Analysis system performs the energy analysis and presents the data weekly on the Save-A-Watt website for everyone to see.

Green Power Presentation for 3rd and 6th Graders

Apogee and its team of teacher/consultants recently created a 65-slide PowerPoint presentation on Green Power for the Georgia Electric Membership Corporation. Complete with music, simple analogies and explanations of what green power is and animations showing  how landfill gas, hydro, solar and animal waste are being used to generate kWh, the PPT is being used by employees of the 38 member cooperatives of Green Power EMC who provide school presentations.
